For a stay around Cingjing Farm over Lunar New Year, this place was relatively affordable and included breakfast. The bedding was clean even though the facilities felt a bit old. The room window looked out on beautiful swirling mist. The wooden partitions don’t block much sound, but other guests were considerate and it got very quiet after 10 pm. The last kilometer or so to the guesthouse is on a very narrow road where two cars can’t pass. They also serve hot pot for dinner.

The road up is narrow and uphill, so cars with low ground clearance need to be careful. The outdoor platform needs repairs, and the sunset viewing platform is broken. Cleanliness could be better, though the cabin room itself was okay. Breakfast was average Chinese food but filling. The landlady was nice and hospitable, while the owner came across as a bit cool. It’s a guesthouse in Qingjing.

There’s a big open area outside with a table, where you can grill or have hot pot. Breakfast comes with the stay. It’s simple but decent, with porridge, braised pork rice, steamed eggs, stir-fried cabbage, and about four dishes total, plus steamed buns, bread, and milk tea. It seems you can add a small hot pot for dinner. The room wasn’t large, but the double bed was fairly big, and the bathroom was spacious. The shower and toilet aren’t separate. There was a fourth TV, though it was small and the picture wasn’t very good. The hairdryer was faulty, so I’d bring your own. The price was reasonable during the holiday. Getting there means driving a short mountain road that’s narrow and uneven, so cars with low ground clearance should be careful.

We had drinks we could make ourselves while relaxing on the deck or in the main room. Breakfast was decent and enough to last the morning, but not very varied. It was often the same each day, magi, some vege, and bread with condiments. The best part was the view, especially at night in winter around the full moon, when the stars were easy to see. I’d go to the open carpark above the hotel rooms for stargazing. We stayed in a quadruple room. It wasn’t very large, and there were cobwebs around the balcony, but otherwise it was okay, relatively clean, and had a decent number of sockets. There isn’t much else to do nearby besides qingjing farm and the swiss garden. There are different food options around, and 711 and family mart aren’t too far. Buses go from here to the nearby town of puli. I’d recommend staying no more than 3 nights since there aren’t many activities, unless you just want to chill and laze around longer haha.
