Comin' Place

We had a pleasant stay, with clean rooms, free breakfast and friendly staff. The walls were thin, so bring earplugs or run the bathroom fan for some white noise. The bathroom floor was wooden, and I'm not sure how sanitary that is.

The rooms are nicely decorated and clean. There are lots of accessibility features, including a wheelchair-friendly lift and a chair and grab bar in the shower.

The price is affordable, but the stay felt premium. My solo room was amazing, and I preferred it to the two-person room booked by the people I travelled with. If you're staying in Taichung, Taiwan, I highly recommend Comin' Place.

The bed was very comfortable thanks to its latex topper, though it came with only one pillow. Breakfast was buffet style, made with organic produce, and there was enough food: salads, cereal, hot dishes, porridge, fruit, a few kinds of bread, butter and jam, plus hot and cold drinks. This modern hotel was pleasant, with features for older guests and people with disabilities. Its three connected blocks are A, B and C; rooms have handrails, a bathroom seat, emergency buttons, a Japanese-style toilet and adjustable bathroom temperature. There's also a floor for co-housing with senior citizens. The main downside is the poor sound insulation. The walls are boards with wallpaper, not brick or concrete, and light sleepers should be warned. Prices vary hugely between weekdays and weekends, apparently at all hotels here. The location is a little outside the center. Reception is near the far end of the building, where there are three white umbrellas on the patio. The receptionist was neutral, neither friendly nor rude.
