The room was clean and comfortable, and I enjoyed the breakfast. My problem came when I tried to leave in the morning: the housekeeper on my floor seemed to expect me to stay and watch while she made up the room. I had to meet people downstairs, so that was a big issue, and I was surprised guests were expected to supervise someone doing their job. Apart from that, it was a good stay. Thank you.

Evie Jiang deserves a special mention. She went beyond her role to help us sort out travel glitches, and her service was outstanding. The reception always had someone who spoke English, and everyone there was helpful. Our room was clean, with a large bed, and housekeeping came daily. I also loved the plentiful vegetarian and vegan choices at the buffet. The breakfast staff worked hard, were prompt, and helped us out.

It was in good shape for a refurbished place, with enough facilities and amenities for a short business stay. The hotel felt cozy and tidy, and the train station was nearby. It isn't fancy. The one letdown was the front desk person, who looked tired or lazy and wasn't very welcoming or helpful.

Our room was spacious and clean, and the service was good. The place is simple rather than luxurious, but it was comfortable enough for a good night's sleep. It's well positioned in old town Taichung city, within walking distance of the rail station. A taxi to nearby markets costs under 100 Taiwan dollars.
