Green Hotel - Midori

We were initially impressed, but the female receptionist made our stay feel very unpleasant and unwelcoming. At 9pm, she came into the laundry room, chased us out, and even stopped my dryer while our clothes were still half-dry. I know hotels have policies, but I felt very offended by the way she confronted us. We won’t return. I also overheard another group saying they wouldn’t have enough time to do their laundry before the 9pm cut-off. Most tourists only get back around 8pm after sightseeing, so ending laundry service at 9pm seems unrealistic. If noise from the laundry room is a concern, the hotel should seriously consider moving it away from the guest rooms.

The room was spacious and clean, and there’s a water dispenser on every floor with hot, warm, and cold water for refilling bottles. Housekeeping only changed towels and emptied the rubbish bins, with no extra cleaning or bed-making. I found the lack of hooks in the toilet area for clothes or towels a little inconvenient. The hotel is convenient for food and getting around. Nearby eateries serve Vietnamese, Indonesian, Thai, and local food, and there are convenience stores close by. The train station and a shopping mall are both within walking distance. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Check-in is at 4:00 PM and check-out at 11:00 AM. There’s free self-service laundry with a washing machine and dryer, useful for longer stays, plus complimentary tea and snacks in the lobby. The lobby is on the 12th floor. The lift entrance is through a side door, which can be easy to miss at first. It’s a comfortable, well-located hotel with good basic facilities, though a few room amenities could be improved.

The room was spacious, and the bathroom looked clean. I appreciated the free biscuits and tea, and being near the train station was a plus. There was a not-so-pleasant smell in the hallway and other parts of the hotel, and I heard quite a bit of noise from neighbouring rooms. I don’t have much else to add beyond what other reviews have said.

The service recovery was prompt and well handled, and I’m grateful for how responsive and thoughtful the staff were. They explained that the drilling came from renovation work in another unit in the same building, which has multiple units and isn’t directly controlled by the hotel. They hadn’t been told about the work in advance, but went down right away to clarify and ask that it start later. They also gave us a voucher for a nearby café as a goodwill gesture, which I appreciated. Our rooms were clean, and the staff were kind and friendly. Still, at 9am on a Friday, loud drilling disturbed our rest, and we hadn’t been warned about any renovation. We were severely disappointed that our sleep was interrupted.
