Hamilton Hotel

The morning staff member with angry red eyes was just as unpleasant. When I said I was checking out, he stared at me, muttered “Oh!” and said nothing else. Earlier, at the self-check-in kiosk, the receptionist was impatient and unwelcoming, as if I'd interrupted something important. Her way of speaking felt very disrespectful. I've had waiters in Hongkong treat me better. Next time, I'll skip this sorry excuse of a hotel.

The location is great, the price isn't high, and the staff are proactive and helpful. My double room had plenty of space, and the room, towels, and sheets were clean. Everything is dated, but it works and is clean. I liked that the power stays on without inserting a card, so I could leave the A/C running when I stepped out briefly. The shower has no curtain, so water gets onto the floor, and there was only one towel per person with no extra floor towel. The A/C was slow and weak, barely enough for late August, and the hallway needed vacuuming.

The staff were really friendly and let me into the room before the official check-in time. The room, though, felt a bit shady and smelled like old cigarette smoke.

For around 1000ntd, I thought it was good value. The location is fantastic, just a few minutes' walk from restaurants, parks, and shopping centers. The rooms were clean and mostly looked after, though they were old. My shower head leaked, and there was no tissue in the bathroom.
