YouBike kiosks nearby made the location manageable, but getting to restaurants on foot was quite a trek. Breakfast was bad enough that I brought my own fruit, yogurt, and tea each day, and there was little for Western tastes. After three weeks, I checked out with a damp room that had smelled funky since I arrived. They charged me 200 NT for a lost plastic key, something I’d never run into before. I regret leaving housekeeping a red envelope. Apart from one or two staff members, I found the place pretty awful, and I won’t return.

If you need to stay around Beitun, this worked well for me because it ticked all my boxes. The new building has parking, and the room was clean and nicely designed. I liked the comfortable bed and pillows, the hanging space, the bathroom mirror lighting, and especially the bathtub. Breakfast wasn’t to my taste, as I expected, but my husband likes traditional Taiwanese congee and seemed to enjoy it.

The bed was quiet and had a nice balance of softness and firmness. Breakfast was good quality and worth getting up for. There’s a convenience store nearby, and the supermarket is a seven-minute walk away.

The room was clean and felt new. I was glad mine had the bathtub shown in booking photos, since the listing doesn’t mention one and the hotel told me only some rooms have it. Sheets are changed every other day. Breakfast was so-so, about what I’d expect at a hotel this size. The bathroom has only a glass door and curtain between it and the room.

The rooms were small but nice, and the staff were friendly. Getting around was the drawback: it’s not very close to the city centre and the bus routes aren’t great. Breakfast choices were limited and mostly Taiwanese, like congee, which isn’t really for me.
