If you like trying to sleep while people sing KTV, this is the place. The plus is the location, just a short walk from the FengJia Night market.

The location makes it easy to reach Taichung’s biggest night market on foot, with shops and food nearby. The bed, pillows, and blankets were comfortable enough, and housekeeping did an outstanding job keeping things clean. Staff were friendly but not very helpful with questions about the surrounding area. At check-in, we were given a buffet finger food voucher, but nobody mentioned it had to be used on our first night, so we missed out. Front desk staff could use a little more training on sharing the important in-house information.

The room condition and breakfast left me disappointed, though the staff were friendly and accommodating. I wouldn’t choose to stay here again. The hotel is about a 10-minute walk from Fengchia Night Market. There’s a bar and KTV on the ground floor, but the soundproofing was excellent, and we didn’t hear them. Even though the building is on a main road, the room stayed pleasantly quiet. The room felt dated, and the carpet looked poorly maintained. I felt uneasy walking on it barefoot. The bed was comfortable and dust-free, which mattered a lot with my dust allergy, and we slept well. The pillows were good quality. The bathroom worked, but it was small, and the floor was extremely slippery. There was a warning sign, but I’m not sure why it was so slick. It gave the impression it hadn’t been cleaned properly. I’d give the room 3 stars. Breakfast was the biggest letdown, just 2 stars for me. The food tasted good, but there was very little variety, so we ate elsewhere on the second day. There are plenty of good breakfast spots nearby. Children are charged 200 NTD, which feels steep for such a small selection. It would be fairer to let children up to 12 eat free. We also had to clear our own plates, cups, and utensils, which felt more suited to fast food than a hotel, especially with the dining area being so small.

The room was tiny, with no space for luggage, and the air felt stale. The air conditioning smelled musty. Worst of all, I woke up with an itchy rash each of the 3 nights and eventually realized it was bed bugs. Horrendous. Housekeeping is done once a week, so it seems nothing gets changed or washed most of the time. Colleagues also said it was super duper filthy. This place is a shame to the hospitality industry. I’ve traveled around the globe, and this was the worst hotel of my life. Don’t stay here unless you have to sleep in the streets.
