Oursea Hotel

A simple, economical place to sleep if you’re visiting Taichung on a budget. It’s near a local park, west of the art center museum, and close to my favorite coffee shop, Yocano coffee south of the hotel. I highly recommend that shop.

We stayed for 4D3N, and the elevator was a big help since we were on 3F. The spacious, easy-to-reach parking lot and a 24H self-service laundry within walking distance were convenient. The bed was 5/5, I fell asleep right away after long, tiring days. Housekeeping cleaned the room and replaced the toiletries every day. We appreciate the fresh toiletries and towels, though I think guests could be offered the choice to skip replacements for sustainability. The shower had anti-slip flooring and strong water pressure, both appreciated. The breakfast buffet was superb, with plenty of kid-friendly choices. I especially liked the unsweetened soy milk. The sweet potato was too soft for me, maybe overcooked, but the other dishes were great. Thanks for the great service, we wished we could stay longer. 👍

From 05:00, the open-plan landing above the kitchen gets noisy, with no consideration for the rooms above. My room had bugs that made me itch, and there were no windows. The front desk also struggled to communicate in English. I won't stay here again.

A member of the counter staff was like a walking tourist guidebook and was very willing to share what she knew about the area. The room was clean and comfortable, and the kids loved the bathtub. Breakfast was okay, good enough for my family. Downstairs, they enjoyed the Nintendo switch games, books, and puzzles. There are drink and snack machines, and a self-service laundry shop just 3 minutes away on foot. We enjoyed our 2 nights there.
