The room was comfortable and clean, but breakfast needs work. Pancakes, fried eggs, and bacon were prepared in advance and left cold on plates on a trolley before being moved into the serving drums. The toaster was locked in a slow cold setting too. Even after three very slow rounds, the bread was barely warm and had no color.

Parking was plentiful, and the rooms were comfortable. The hotel breakfast was very good as well.

On my first trip to Taichung, Taiwan, I found the hotel beautiful and surrounded by greenery. The staff were friendly and very good at English, and my room was neat and clean. Breakfast was good too. I'd happily recommend staying here for a night, a week, or even a month. I hope to return to Shinkansen Grand hotel.

2/10
The hotel felt old and very old-fashioned. Our room smelled bad and had a mosquito in it, and one of the fresh towels was dirty. We stayed two nights and noticed the restaurant breakfast staff taking food for themselves several times, about 45 minutes before breakfast ended. It was awkward having to wait for them to fill their plates before we could get our share. Very disappointing.

Getting around can be difficult because you'll need taxis. The hotel is a nice business stay near an industrial area. My room was spacious and clean, with plenty of bathroom amenities. The hot water pressure was lovely.
