The inn is about a 15-minute walk from Taichung Train Station, though I'd take an Uber with big luggage. Yizhong Street is close for food and shops, and you can cut through the open space carpark to reach the shopping area. Buses are plentiful, and Uber is easy to get too. There's also a cafe next door where you can get a breakfast discount by showing your room card. As a woman travelling alone, I was a little uneasy at first about the entrance, which is in an alley beside a bistro bar. You need an access card to enter. Just make sure the door locks behind you. The front desk is staffed from 11 am to 10:30 pm, with an emergency number for after hours. LINE was easy to use to contact them. The staff were friendly and helpful. My room matched the pictures. I did find hairs on the bed and a hole in the bath towel on the first night, so I gave the room a four for cleanliness. I reported it on LINE, and staff responded quickly, offering to change the sheets and clean the room. Since I stayed a week, housekeeping was scheduled for day four. Soundproofing could be better, but earplugs were provided. Hot water was available, which mattered during Taiwan's winter. There was a water dispenser on each floor, with rubbish and recycling bins nearby. For first-time visitors to Taichung, a sign explaining that toilet paper shouldn't go in the toilet bowl would be useful. For the price, I felt it was good value.

The service was excellent, and the staff were really helpful. The location was also convenient, very close to Yizhong, and we had a pleasant stay for the countdown. We chose to downgrade because the smaller room layout made more sense, even though the other room had more square metres. The washing setup was the letdown. We used it on our last day, but the machine didn't work properly and the dryer was broken. At 11 pm, with it 11°C outside, we had to walk to another laundry place to dry our clothes while wearing our sleeping clothes. Please upgrade the laundry area or remove it.

The host made our stay comfortable and was quick to respond, even when I asked for help at midnight. Once, the shared washer and dryer were occupied because another guest had left their clothes in the machine. I needed to do urgent laundry, and the host moved the clothes into a bag so I could use it. After checkout, we could also leave our luggage in the room for a few hours at no extra charge, which made waiting for our afternoon train easier. The place is comfortable and convenient, just a few minutes' walk from YiZhong Night Market for food and shopping. I'd recommend staying here for the helpful service and location.
