Xin Yuan Motel

The room has a cigarette smell that seems like it would be very hard to clear out. The place is better suited to couples than children. It’s a little out of the way, but the price is great and the value for money is quite good.

The room’s fixtures were dated, though the service was okay. There were mosquitoes everywhere. When I called about an extra bed, they said they’d check with the front desk, but once I got to the room I was told they didn’t provide one. The extra bed itself was moldy. Breakfast wasn’t included, and what was there looked so fancy I can’t even describe it.

I was charged 580 extra for room cleaning, even though I’d prepaid 1780 a night for two nights and hadn’t been told about the fee beforehand. They said the rule had started in January 2022. Usually there are toiletries for the first night, so I was left wondering whether my two-night payment counted for anything. The surroundings were very basic and didn’t meet the motel standards or cleanliness I expected. I won’t repeat the comments about the travel photos, since plenty of people have already covered them. The person on duty on January 22nd was kind and willing to talk things through. She refunded us directly and reminded us to take our belongings when we left. At least the cleanup was handled properly. The hotel’s procedures and standards still aren’t commendable, though. I was going to give one star, but I’m adding a star because of that employee.

The jacuzzi didn’t work, the emergency exit door wouldn’t lock, and you couldn’t change channels on the bathroom TV. There was no breakfast either, and the price wasn’t cheap. I’ve never stayed in a motel this bad.
