Avoid this place. The rooms are worn out, with bugs, dust, and mold all over. There was a tap dripping constantly beside the bed and dangerous wiring by the sink. I couldn’t even make it through the night.

The facilities are way too old, and the cleaning needs improvement. The air conditioner is also really noisy.

The room wasn’t clean. There was dust all over parts of the bathroom floor, plus half a fingernail and a plastic bottle cap left by the previous guest. The hairdryer didn’t work properly either. The equipment is old, and the window air conditioner can’t be adjusted. It worked on and off, with the temperature suddenly changing because there was no way to control it. Breakfast was extremely basic: two fairly bland steamed buns and two drinks that cost ten yuan each.

We were in Taichung to see friends and booked in a hurry without checking the reviews. We regretted it the moment we walked in. I barely slept. The stairs had mold debris on them, there was a clump of the previous guest’s hair in the drain, and the pillow and headboard smelled horribly greasy. Even folding a towel three times didn’t cover it. The table and floor were thick with dust, and black bits kept falling from the damp, water-stained ceiling. I couldn’t tell whether the sheets had been changed or the room cleaned, or whether it had simply been neglected or abandoned. The old, moldy walls would have been okay if they’d at least been clean. The window-style air conditioner was extremely loud and set to 23 degrees Celsius, but it wouldn’t cool below 28. With the vent blowing straight at my face, it was still too hot to sleep. Reviews had said things would improve and this wouldn’t happen again.
