556 Homestay

The place was quiet, and after reading the reviews I was really looking forward to staying here. A few things could be improved, though, and would make it feel more like home. There was a used toothbrush, toothpaste, and comb left by a previous guest. For hygiene reasons, I don't think people generally want to use items handled by strangers, so those should be removed during cleaning. The shower drain was filthy too, which was a bit alarming. Breakfast was disappointing. There were four plates of pickled vegetables, sweet melon, gluten, dates, and pork floss. Without those, I might have thought I was being served wartime rations in a play. The sweet potato porridge was extremely watery. In my experience, it seemed to have no more than half a cup of rice, though for four people it should have had at least a cup. There weren't any whole sweet potatoes left in the pot, only scraps. It felt like there was hardly anything to the porridge. I didn't want to fill up on liquid and then have to keep going to the bathroom, so I couldn't finish it.

The guesthouse was comfortable and very clean, and the owners were incredibly warm and friendly. The bananas they grew were absolutely delicious! I'd highly recommend it for families and groups of all ages. The kids will definitely come away with lovely memories.

There's loads of room here, with camping facilities, karaoke, a big restaurant, and separate villas. Being up in the mountains made for a wonderfully relaxing stay, the kind of comfort you only find there. The landlady was lovely and so handsome, and both hosts were incredibly welcoming. I highly recommend this relaxing mountain guesthouse!

The owner put a lot of thought into the decor. The four-person room was spacious and comfortable, and next time I'd like to book the whole building with my family. The common areas were roomy too, with a large dining area and table. On a weekday it felt as though I had the entire building to myself, which made it excellent value.
