Second visit here. The price isn't too high, and it's great value.

The bathroom and tub were still wet when I checked in at 8 PM, and the room didn't seem properly cleaned. There was black grime on the showerhead, yellow marks on the floor, and dirt in the bathtub. The room smelled strongly of cigarette smoke despite the "No Smoking" sign. It looked old and yellowed, with lots of cracks and damage to the ceiling. See the photos! I paid NT$3180 for one night on Saturday. The location is in a very suburban part of Xinying, Tainan, and at this price, with this kind of environment, think carefully before choosing it. If I hadn't failed to find any other accommodation, I wouldn't even have been able to shower. I couldn't bring myself to lie down in the bed.
The air conditioner smelled so sour I thought I was doing an experiment, and its filter looked like it had never seen water. The window even had a bird's nest, like an eco-tour guide might turn up any second. And the bathtub was so filthy you could raise new life in it. This isn't accommodation, it's a test of how much a survivor can take!
The room was spotless and the front desk staff were really friendly. Only drawback was that FamilyMart was the only convenience store open late at night.
I've stayed in hundreds of motels around Taiwan, and this is definitely one I'd refuse to visit again. It's the first time I've ever given a motel one star. If I deducted points for every problem, the score might go below zero. Online photos made the room look very spacious, but they were misleading. I booked the NT$2500 room type and found it extremely small, with a narrow bathroom. I upgraded to the NT$2900 room, which was still smaller than expected, and some of the facilities were awful. There wasn't a wardrobe or even anywhere to hang clothes, and no table, so I had breakfast in bed. The dessert cabinet was badly designed, and I kept bumping my head when pouring water. Tainan is hot, and the hotel must know the air conditioning is inadequate, yet they put fans in the rooms instead of fixing the problem. Breakfast was dreadful: untoasted toast with a thick layer of mayonnaise. The TV had no MOD or remote control, which was the most outrageous part. Lights and curtains were all controlled by a touch panel beside the bed, but its sensor barely worked. Sometimes nothing happened, and sometimes pressing A switched to B. The Wi-Fi was so poor I couldn't even open Line.
