Breakfast was good, but it took about half an hour to arrive because they start making it when you get to the dining area. We had to change our transport connection. At night the room was bright, too, since the thin blinds didn't block the hallway light. The place is beautiful, but our room was dusty and not as clean as expected, certainly not as clean as other places in Taiwan. The dust and/or bed triggered my allergies and hives, and the light fixtures were very dusty. There were no lamps or fridge in the room, and we weren't allowed to use the fridges in the common areas. I also saw a sign saying they don't hold luggage after checkout.

The building has a beautiful old facade and a wonderful courtyard where breakfast is served. The rooms have modern amenities, the staff are wonderful, and breakfast was good. The room worked well for one person, though I'm not sure how it would be for two.

Breakfast was the letdown. They asked when I wanted to eat, but it still came more or less cold. Semi-cold grilled vegetables and eggs first thing in the morning aren't great. I'd rather wait another 15 minutes for a fresh meal. The place has a cozy feel, and even the music fits. You can tell they put a lot of effort into it. People mention the soundproofing, and yes, it gets noisy at times, but nothing dramatic. Still a nice place, and I'd visit again.

I couldn't sleep through the night because of how poorly the floors are soundproofed. At 3 a.m., loud footsteps and laughter from upstairs woke me up. Then at 8:00 a.m. the whole building was shaking from loud renovation work. I'd give it zero stars if I could.
