Les Hotel Tainan

We had dim sum here and it was delicious, with excellent service and dishes brought right to the table. The setting is lovely and relaxing, and works well for groups. The hotel’s exterior and interior are both beautiful, and it also seems well suited to banquets and weddings.

The location was hard to find, tucked down a small street, and I could hear every word from the room next door. My room smelled like unwashed feet, and the old carpets were gross. I can’t understand how this is rated four stars. I’d only send someone I hated here. Google Maps still calls it Tainan business center, and the hotel seems just as slow to update that as it is to handle the renovations it badly needs.

The breakfast buffet was good, and the resort-style pool opens in the afternoon. The TV channels weren’t very good, and even with the temperature control the air conditioning was far too cold.

I was very disappointed. The carpet in my room was stained, and even the hallway carpet looked tidier. For a four-star place, the superior room I stayed in felt more like a three-star hotel.
