The common area is spacious and peaceful, and I could get work done easily as a digital nomad. The dorms are comfortable, everything is very clean, and there are enough showers and toilets that I never had to wait during my three nights. The owner welcomed guests with complimentary fruit, and kindly gave me fruit during my stay as well. It’s a family-run place, and it feels like they care about accommodating travelers more than making money. Laundry costs 10 NTD, while the dryer is 20 NTD, or you can hang clothes on the upstairs drying rack. Coffee from the machine is 20 NTD, and drinking water is free. The location is excellent, about a 10-minute walk to the train station in the West Central area, close to most of the food and activities I needed in Tainan. It’s not a very social hostel if you’re mainly hoping to meet people, though saying hi to someone nearby can start a conversation. One of the best hostels I’ve stayed in.
