I’ve stayed in different hostels as a French traveler, and the family running this one was really lovely. The owner and one of her daughters welcomed me, helped me fill in the form, and explained everything clearly. The mixed rooms are separated well, so I had privacy and wasn’t disturbed by other travelers. The inn is opposite a temple, where you can sometimes see activities taking place. It’s a small, family-run hostel, with several little hostels that are ideal for collecting. It’s very cheap and in a great location, so it’s a good place if you’re passing through Tainan and want a small family hostel. I left a little note on the wall about the countries 🙂

The rooms are simple and cozy, with what you need for a comfortable night’s sleep. The toilets and showers were clean and easy to get to. A woman, maybe the owner, and her daughters gave me a warm welcome. They were lovely and professional, got in touch with me on WhatsApp, and responded promptly with all the information I needed, including tourism advice. I don’t think the older reviews reflect what the place is like now.

The owner was very friendly, and I really enjoyed my stay. I’m not sure why so many people complain. A lot of those reviews might be out of date.

It’s easy to get around from here, with the temple and historic Chihkan Tower nearby. There’s also plenty of food close by, so finding something to eat isn’t a concern. I was happy with the friendly service and how clean the place was.

On a budget, this is a great base for exploring Tainan. Meizu Temple and Fort Provitia are just a short walk away.
