The staff were kind, and the room was roomy. It’s also right in the center.

We stayed two nights in a room for four, and there were some real drawbacks despite a few useful features. The room itself had enough space, with a table and chairs for eating takeout. The location was handy too: Shin Kong Mitsukoshi was walkable, and the city center was around a 10-minute drive away. In the bathroom, the water was hot and had good pressure, and there was a bathtub, though the shower setup let water spill onto the toilet. The room felt damp the whole time. Even with the AC running around the clock, the floor stayed wet-feeling underfoot and there was a musty odor. Dust was obvious in the air under the lights, and the room needed a much better clean. The air conditioner was also so loud that anyone needing a quiet room to sleep would struggle. The bed was very hard, almost like sleeping on wood, and movement from one person made the whole thing shake. The building looked poorly maintained. The hallway carpet was filthy, wires were exposed in several spots, the floor was uneven, and the facilities felt barely usable. Even the tissue boxes had other hotels' names on them, and the bathroom towels said Liyutan Hotel, which was odd. The card handling was unsettling. We asked about fresh towels and housekeeping for our second night, and were told to leave our room cards in an open box on the counter, with our room number clearly marked. Anyone could take them, since the box was outside the staff area. When we came back, staff told us to retrieve the cards ourselves and didn't check who we were. It seemed any guest could pick up room cards without staff paying attention.
