Cheers Loft - Hostel

The location was the only good part. I was supposed to stay from the 15-20th, but ended up choosing to sleep on the street because it was cleaner than inside. I did see a cleaner on site, but that didn't make up for the mold smell. Cockroaches crawled on me while I slept, and then, just before midnight, a rat came out from above me. I had a video where you can faintly hear it scuttling around. I could hear more rats in the walls too. I called the hotline, and they said someone would come in the morning. No one did, so I checked out. The place had cockroaches, rats, unhygienic conditions, paper-thin walls, and random squares missing from the ceiling. It wasn't worth the price or even the location, honestly. The whole building gave me the creeps.

The bed is comfy, and the room has good 500mb internet and water pressure. The connectivity and location are great. The problem is the noise: I could hear people talking in other rooms and traffic from the street.

The shared bathroom worked out fine. It wasn't crowded, and it had all the basic necessities. The check-in and check-out counter is in a small nook along the block, but the process was efficient. There are 2 elevators, and the wait wasn't bad. Cheers Loft is on 2F, so it's not much of a climb if you want to take the stairs. Very good for the price 👌👌👌👌

For a modest price, Cheers Loft was fine overall and good value, as was the other hostel I stayed at in Ho Chi Minh City. Taipei was my second hostel stay. In both places, self check-in was a burden. At this one it caused trouble for me, a Thai guest, and a Taiwanese guest, so they should improve that process. A neighbor's loud snoring is just human nature and understandable, but moving the beds around in each room might help reduce that noise.
