City Inn (Taipei Main Station three Hall)

You’re a few steps from the Y13 exit, close to Main Taipei Station, and only a short walk from other businesses. Breakfast is all-you-can-eat, with bread, jam, dimsum, and the xiao long bao we loved. The coffee machine has Americano and Capuccino available 24/7, and there are water dispensers on every floor. Staff are friendly and helpful, though much of the hotel is self-service. Laundry machines and dryers are available, but there’s no room service. The bathroom is small but manageable. Bring your own hygiene kit, and note that there’s no elevator. Still, we had a good stay and would return.

The weekday room I rented was really cheap. It had one bed for two people and a toilet inside, which was handy. I gave it five stars because the train station is so close and the price includes a simple breakfast. Just be ready for stairs if you’re assigned a higher floor, since the hostel has no elevator. The dining area is on the 6th floor.

The room is small, and breakfast isn’t especially interesting, but the price is affordable. I’d recommend this for young people exploring the city on a small budget. It suits a solo traveler or a group of friends who want to stay near Taipei Main Station. Y13, opposite the hotel, is an easy way to catch the airport Express train. The entrance for the red and blue lines at Y8 is across the street and takes a little searching. There are two shopping malls nearby for quick meals, and Xinmeiding night market is also within reach. There’s no elevator, so keep heavy luggage in mind.

The lounge coffee was great, and it wasn’t instant. I also thought the free breakfast was worth having, and the internet was fast enough for work. For getting around, Taipei Main Station and bus stations are close by. The guy on staff, I think he works the night shift, was so nice.
