GoSleep Hotel (XiNing)

The hotel is small, but the welcoming, helpful reception staff make a difference. There’s always someone in the lobby, which feels reassuring. The location is very good too.

Friendly service and a clean room. I’d stay here again next time.

From the Section 2 side of Hankou Street, look for the Hi-Life convenience store near 30 Xining South Road. Turn left just past it and continue straight for about a minute. After crossing the driveway, you'll spot a metal fence and photo booth on your left. Turn there, and the elevator is just ahead.

The room has plenty of space, and the towels are thick and very good. Hot water was plentiful, too, and there were bottled water, a coffee machine, a dispenser, and a front desk open around the clock. The location is handy, though finding the entrance takes a bit of effort: it's down an alley near World Gym. Opening the door, though, you're hit by a really unpleasant musty smell. The wooden clothes rack has rough edges, so be careful with it. Morning light comes through the curtains and can disturb your sleep if you're sensitive to light. I couldn't really judge the soundproofing since there weren't many people around.
