Taipei MRT Luxury Apartment(Monthly Stay)

This place is currently operating as “Taipei Metro Luxury Apartment.” It’s in a good spot, right across from the MRT, and the apartment has been recently renovated with five ensuite rooms. The bed is comfortable and comes with two kinds of pillows, which is handy for solo travelers. Couples will have to sort out who gets which one. Internet was very fast and the signal in the room was strong, as long as all the routers were on. The washing machine is free, while using the dryer costs 100NTD/h. Ms. Len responded quickly whenever I had a question. There are some bathroom problems: ventilation is poor and leaves a bad smell, the shower caddy is loose, and the light is too dim, casting shadows on the mirror. The renovation didn’t soundproof the floor, so you can hear wastewater in the sewage pipes when someone uses the bathrooms next door. The little courtyard-facing window won’t open properly, which makes the air circulation poor. There aren’t many places to hang clothes, so you end up needing the dryer, which costs extra. Even set to “Hot” for an hour, it doesn’t get hot and the clothes remain damp. The little fan in the room is very noisy, so if you don’t want the air conditioning, earplugs are probably best for sleeping. In other, much cheaper Taipei apartments, gas and water are included, and electricity is charged at the official rate of around 5NDT/kWh. Here, water and gas are charged as part of electricity at 10 NDT/kWh. With rent already so expensive, that feels like a rip-off. I’m not sure whether this will change under the new management.
