Wellspring by Silks Beitou

Laura was thoughtful and helpful with the arrangements, and Ivan took lovely photos while helping light the cake. It never felt like they were just doing a job. Since we were celebrating a birthday, the staff also arranged the cake, decorations, and a photo session, making the occasion feel personal. As we left, everyone checked that we’d enjoyed our stay and walked us to the car. We couldn’t get everyone’s name, but the whole “A” team was stellar. The room was very comfortable and had brilliant amenities, and the stay was fantastic from start to finish. Thank you, everyone! I’m grateful we got to stay at Wellspring by Silks!

The room was immaculate, spacious, and modern, with complimentary refreshments. The open-air private bath and onsen made the stay unforgettable. We barely wanted to leave the room and took turns in the sulfur spring bath. At check-in we were welcomed right away and offered lovely refreshments. The staff were kind and attentive the whole time, and helped arrange a large taxi so our luggage would fit on the way to the airport. We had a wonderful stay at Wellsprings by Beitou, and I can’t wait to return. I’ll make a stop here next time I’m in Taiwan.

The in-room hot spring tub felt too high and potentially dangerous for senior citizens, so you need to be careful getting in and out. The public bath was also on the small side compared with other hot spring hotels. Its three temperatures, 19C, 38C and 40 C, mean walking along the ledges can feel risky. Maybe it would be safer if those areas were combined into one larger space. There are just two public washrooms on the ground floor, which creates a long line. With the restaurant seating 50-80 people, two universal stalls don’t seem like enough. Oscar at reception was super friendly, and the welcome lounge is a great place to hang out and snack if you arrive before check-in. The rooms are comfortable and beautifully equipped, breakfast has a pretty good selection of Western and light Japanese food, and the service is great.

Our balcony looked out over the mountains and surrounding neighborhood, and the hotel is only a short walk from the MRT station. Beitou Hot Spring Museum and the thermal valley lookout are also nearby. We had a great one-night stay, with excellent service from check-in through breakfast and the hot spring amenities. The room was large, tidy, comfortable, and relaxing, with complimentary drinks and snacks. The kids enjoyed the indoor onsen and cold tub. There was a happy hour with drinks and snacks, a spacious public onsen with two large hot spring areas and a cold spring, plus a sauna and steam room. The hotel also has a kids’ playroom, hot tubs, and a pool.
