The couple running this place were super nice, and they make it easy to meet people and feel part of a community. The rooms and facilities were spotless and nicely designed. It's in a quiet neighborhood, just a five-minute walk from Taitung station. One of the best hostels I've stayed at, and I can't wait to come back.

I've stayed in 50, maybe 100, hostels during my nine years living in Taiwan and traveling around the island, and Xing Ba and Xing Ma are the best. On only my second stay at Taitung Ohana Sky Hostel, they called me “friend.” That felt special. If you want to see how a real Taiwanese family might live, I recommend staying at Ohana. I'm sure Xing Ma and Xing Ba would be happy to make friends with you too. Thanks, my friends. See you next time. Ohana is the best, and so are you guys.

Star mom and Star dad are wonderful, so welcoming and warm, and the hostel feels clean and homey. The first floor is a lovely place to sit and talk. It's near Taitung's train station, which is away from the city center, and there are scooter rentals all around. I’ll definitely come back to Taitung and stay here again.

Xinma and Xinma treat guests like family and go out of their way with travel tips and recommendations. They have lots of stories to share, which is especially nice when you're traveling solo, and they even offered to do my laundry. The hostel is a very accessible base for getting around Taitung, just a five-minute walk from the train station. I can't say enough good things about it and highly recommend staying here.

If you're trying to choose a hostel in Taitung, stay at Ohana. Singma and Singba were the most incredible people I've ever met, and I've never felt so cared for and loved in a hostel. Long-term travel can leave you feeling lost, lonely, or homesick, but when you first walk into Ohana and get greeted, those feelings disappear. Much love ❤️
