Taoyuan Hua Yue Hotel

I liked this place a lot, it has a strangely captivating feel. The bed was the one letdown, quite springy and not very comfortable. The style and furniture feel old, and some of the amenities are cracked or rusted, though everything seemed quite clean. It gives the impression of a fancy hotel from 1990 that later fell from grace, now kept going by a competent skeleton crew.

The staff were kind and gave me information about the area. The walls are thick enough that I couldn’t hear couples having their “action” here. The bed was clean enough, though I’ve seen worse. The night market is a fair walk away. For a short vacation where you’re out all day and only come back to sleep, it’s not bad. I saw young couples on short stays, families with kids, and high school students staying here. Given what I paid, the experience was alright.

The water was yellow, which was very disappointing. They moved me to another room, but the water was the same and the bathtub was even worse, very small. I paid 900nt for the room because I wanted a relaxing night alone, but the service let me down. I wanted to unwind and pamper myself, and instead I was very disappointed. I don’t recommend it at all.

The double room was good, with coffee, tea, a refrigerator, a hot drink maker, a TV, and LAN. The outlet wasn’t near the bed, but there was a table with a mirror in the corner. The bathroom had a bathtub, which really helped soothe my tired legs. I didn’t try the breakfast. I’m not sure they serve food that’s suitable for Muslims.
