I left my baby’s butterfly dress behind, and around 11 PM the owner even rode his bike over to my guesthouse to bring it to me! At check-in the day before, he was attentive and explained everything clearly. The service and attitude were both absolutely 100%. If you’re visiting Yilan, book now! 💙

The room itself was bright and clean, and it didn’t have the musty smell mentioned in other reviews. It looked roughly like the website photos, though the exterior was a different story. The building looks somewhat old, and the entrance was poorly kept: rusty iron decorations, cracked wooden boards, and old tables and chairs piled up like a storage area. It looked quite different from the photos, so my first impression wasn’t good. The room balcony was also weathered, with worn floorboards and furniture. Some furniture inside needed repair too. The thin curtains were torn and could be removed. The bathroom vanity was crooked and detached, and the dressing table paint was visibly peeling. The owner was polite and friendly, and took time to explain things when we checked in. But on the morning we arrived, I tried to call and message on Line around 10 am to ask about dropping off our bags. I got no answer at the doorbell either, and only received a callback an hour later. I understand calls can be missed during cleaning, but being unable to reach the host for that long felt unsettling. The bed fit two adults and a child, and we slept comfortably. The owner didn’t charge extra for the child, which I appreciated. There were only amenities for two, but that didn’t bother us. The bathtub was large and fairly clean inside, without the white grime noted in earlier reviews. There was still visible residue around the outside, so we rinsed it before bathing. The shower pressure was extremely strong and couldn’t be adjusted, and my child said it hurt. For around 2,000, the good and bad points feel fairly balanced, so the value is okay. If you care a lot about details, you may want to think carefully about this room.

I booked hoping for a relaxing soak in a private bath, but the showerhead couldn’t even drain all the water. So disappointing.

There’s a dedicated parking spot, and the owner was very welcoming. But cleanliness matters most to me, and the room didn’t feel very clean, especially the bathroom. It smelled musty, and mold on the bathtub seal made me afraid to use it. I probably won’t stay here again.
