The garden view was superb, and they had a free coffee machine in the room as well as costumes you could borrow at no charge. Breakfast was great, and it’s very welcoming for kids. I’d recommend coming here with the family.

It’s a little way from downtown, but this “castle” is a nice break if you’re worn out by a hectic pace. The owner’s hospitality made every guest feel welcome, and the service was fabulous. Little girls may love the selection of princess costumes available to rent for free, great for a little girls’ party.

I stayed in the Duke of Windsor room, which was huge, with two double beds and a living room. It had WiFi, a large bathtub, a bidet toilet seat, and a little baby bathtub was provided. The bathroom didn’t have a separate shower and toilet. The voucher I’d bought five years ago included breakfast and a change of British-style clothing, though my child is older now so there was an extra charge. The guesthouse also serves meals, and the menu and prices are online. It’s in the Dongshan area of Yilan, surrounded by rice paddies, and very quiet at night. There’s parking in front and a private lot as well. The city center is less than a 10-minute drive if you want to eat out. We had a very comfortable stay 👍
