The bed and pillows were incredibly comfortable, one of my best nights of sleep. I was also glad to have slippers for walking around inside, and staff were friendly. My room was at the top, so there were a lot of stairs, but the view made it worthwhile. I’d pay extra for a sea view. You can leave your bags in the lobby if you arrive early or need to check out. The hotel is right by the harbour, about a one-minute walk from the ferry, with shops and restaurants nearby, so it’s a handy base. The ships sound their horns very loudly, which could spoil a lie-in. I actually enjoyed watching them come in from bed.

I stayed in both kinds of room, with an ocean view and without one. The place was clean and beautiful, and the service was fantastic. I saw a review from someone who felt catfished, but she hadn’t booked the ocean-view room she wanted.

The bathroom was decent and being on the pier was convenient, but the room was a huge letdown. The photos had convinced us to book, then we found a closet-sized room with no view. Its only window looked onto a wall, and the advertised sofa was just a toddler-sized seat. You could hear every movement outside, and there was a strange smell. It felt like a catfish, and the price was far too high for something that felt like a dorm room. Find somewhere better if you can.

The room was clean and the bed was comfortable, and you’re just a stone’s throw from the pier. There’s a hose bib outside the main entrance for rinsing off sand and washing snorkeling or diving gear. I’d have given five stars if I hadn’t hit my head on the low beam.
