Slack BnB - Hostel

The dorms are cozy, with high-quality built-in beds, and the facilities are clean and thoughtfully designed. There’s a kitchen, slacklines, and a projector for downtime. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere was peaceful. A great hostel for a visit to the island.

I came from Canada in January for a two week work exchange, doing housekeeping in return for accommodation and subsidized meals. The hostel was pretty and laid back, and the owner was kind and helped me get set up. Since it was off season, the work was light. I often had the place to myself during the week, finished around noon, and had the afternoon free to snorkel or explore the island. I only speak English, and winter on the island is quieter, so it wasn’t a very social exchange if that’s what you want. Still, you can get by after learning a couple of words, many people speak English, and the owner does too, which made communication easy. I’d definitely reach out to Slack or consider Xiaoliuqiu for a winter exchange. Thanks again, Patrick :)

Slack BnB in Xiao Liuqiu is a relaxed, welcoming place to unwind. The rooms are comfortable, with plenty of charging ports by each bed, and everything is kept clean. I liked hanging out in the common area and watching movies. It’s close to key landmarks for exploring the island, and the outdoor area is a nice place to sunbathe or chill out. A pleasant place to stay.

The staff and their friends were partying in the common area at 1 a.m., and I still heard them through my earplugs. I couldn't sleep, so I planned to cancel the rest of my reservation and leave after that awful night. I don't usually post negative reviews. The boss and staff apologized the next day. We still left, but I appreciated the gesture and raised my rating to two stars. I hope they learned from it and do better in the future.
