Hotel Royal Chiao Hsi

The buffet had lots of variety and good quality, and the head spa was nice too. I also appreciated that the hotel hires seniors. It's a good example for the industry, so please keep it up. We stayed overnight on Sunday, and after the spa I was drawn in by the piano music. I stayed for 5-6 songs. The pianist was great, and the music felt healing. I loved every song. I'm not sure whether the live music is available every day.

Getting here from Taoyuan airport seems easy too. It's one bus, NTD$250, and about 1.5 hours to the bus station at Jiao Xi. We may do that next time. The staff were thoughtful and quick to help. When rain came and went while we were out by the hit springs, they brought us umbrellas. They also made transport simple: we confirmed our pickup at the train station, and they told us where and when they'd meet us. They called when they arrived, and we could also get a ride into JiaoXi town. Our room had amazing mountain views, with birds, insects, monkeys, and local dogs making a natural buzz outside. Otherwise it was very quiet and relaxing. The room also had its own onsen. There are outdoor onsens and an open-air spa, essential hot oil pools, a foot soak pond where fish can feast on your feet, and a lovely swimming pool. For kids, there's a room for infants and young children, plus billiards, ping pong, and air hockey. Breakfast and dinner buffets included Taiwanese, American, and Japanese food, and everything tasted great without being too salty or sweet. We had someone with an egg allergy, and Joanna carefully labeled safe foods at all six meals. That took a real burden off us. They take food allergies seriously, and we'd recommend eating here. Hotel Royal welcomed us warmly and was very responsive to what we needed. We felt lucky to have found this excellent resort in Jiao Xi.

My proxy was kept outside the hotel for four hours after being questioned while there to discuss dividend applications. The staff were the highlight, so attentive and helpful. Our room was beautiful and spacious, and the food was delicious, especially brunch at Zen. We look forward to coming back.
