Jaylins Spahome Bed and Breakfast

The host was so kind. For my birthday on May 1st, they prepared a small gift that made me feel really warm and happy. I was lucky to get room 501, a double room with a big bathtub, and it felt absolutely perfect and blissful. The room was spacious, very clean, tidy, and comfortable. We also had the BBQ facilities, karaoke equipment, and electric mahjong table we were hoping for, which helped make our first family trip a wonderful one.

We stayed four days and three nights over Lunar New Year. The room was clean and neat, without any musty smell. Having the toilet separate from the bathroom had pros and cons, and the bathtub was a real bonus after cycling. The host was friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was pretty ordinary, but it came as an extra, so I didn’t mind. When you’re in Puli, you should try the local breakfast, and luckily there was a nearby place with fried dough sticks that were surprisingly good. The location was a bit of a drawback. It’s close to Yuchi town and Sun Moon Lake, but the roads from Puli felt unsettling, very dark, and went through rocky areas. I’d use navigation to route to Yuchi town first and avoid long stretches of dark road. Even so, it was a great stay overall.

The staff were so warm and welcoming, and the room was nearly perfect in terms of cleanliness. I stayed two nights with friends over the Chinese New Year holiday, and the price was lower than I expected. I’d choose this guesthouse again next time I’m back and highly recommend it.

The huge bathtub in our room was my favorite part. Two people could easily soak in it. We only stayed one night on our annual girls’ trip, and I wish we’d had more time to enjoy everything. The place had a lovely setting, with toys and little cars for kids to play with and room for them to run around. The outdoor area was roomy enough for adults to sit and chat. There was also karaoke equipment, a barbecue grill, kitchenware, and a mahjong table. Breakfast was a Chinese-style buffet, which is hard to find these days, and both the adults and kids ate their fill. The owner was especially friendly and helpful. We’ll stay again next time we’re in Nantou.
