Mrimba Palm Hotel

We loved Mrimba so much that we extended our stay. The garden is beautifully cared for, and the courtyard has a lovely pool plus lots of cozy spots for eating or having a drink, indoors or outside. Our bed was fantastic, the nights were restful, and we especially enjoyed the sheltered balcony. The restaurant and bar prices are very reasonable. Everything was spotless and well maintained, and the place has real charm. The staff were incredibly kind, and the manager was friendly and capable. We'll miss all those cheerful, smiling people.

We booked a night through Amex Travel Agency for our return from Zanzibar. The hotel accepted the reservation, but when we arrived they couldn't find it, and after looking into it, they had no spare room for us. They offered an “upgrade” at the nearby Njiro Climax, but to us that was a downgrade from a four-star hotel to a three-star one. We declined and asked for a refund. The receptionist wasn't helpful, and we ended up spending an hour and a half on the phone with the Hotel Manager. A really bad experience.

Our family had a great time here. It's a small, cozy place where it's easy to get chatting with other guests and make friends. The service was thoughtful, and everyone was really friendly and flexible with the kids. We'd definitely come back.

We were six people staying in three rooms. Two of the rooms had cockroaches, and the bedsheets had holes.
