Venice Hotel

We’d booked two nights around our safari but decided not to come back after the first. The service was unhelpful, and breakfast was almost nonexistent. We were told it would be ready at seven, but nothing was prepared and there was hardly anything at the buffet. Dinner was disappointing too: bland food, with only two dishes available despite the long menu. Everything else was listed as unavailable. With so few guests, the lack of effort made the place feel neglected. It’s a budget hotel, so I didn’t expect luxury, but this still fell below basic standards.

It’s neither great nor terrible. The place was noisy, and the WiFi only worked about half the time. Cleanliness could be better. The old, dirty shower had hot water but barely any pressure. You can walk to Pizza Hut and a supermarket, but only in daylight.

The street was noisy, and the windows wouldn’t even close. The bath windows and shower walls never seemed to get cleaned. I paid for an executive room but was given a cheaper one, and they didn’t return the difference. When I complained, they said “Hakunata matata,” everything was fine. The receptionist was arrogant, and the customer service was bad. They also seemed to sell the same fish twice.

The hotel itself was nice, but the receptionist with short hair and the same lipstick tried to charge us 7000 for breakfast for an outside guest. The night before, she’d told us it would be 2000. Management needs to train the staff better.
