Airport Transit Lodges

We liked the location, the rooms were roomy enough, and the restaurant food was decent, so the stay had potential. But the night staff made sure we got almost no rest before our 4:00am checkout on Monday, 1.09. The receptionist played music from his phone from 10:00pm to 1:00am, talking and laughing loudly on a call until midnight. Just when we had finally fallen asleep, he started up again, singing and whistling. I asked him to stop and he did, but then he dragged a heavy wooden chair around for another half hour. We only managed to sleep around 1:30am. In the morning he asked how our night had been, as though he didn’t know. Even the planes coming in over Dar es Salaam airport were quieter. The hotel itself is fine, but the night receptionist’s arrogant, rude behavior overshadowed everything else. I won’t be back.

We booked room service food, but although they prepared it, nobody brought it up. I had to call, and then they said it was ready and would arrive soon. It still took another 10 minutes. The rooms are small and not in great shape, though they're usable for a quick stop between flights. The driver also left us at the wrong terminal and, when we challenged him, told us to walk to the other one. The service, and that nerve, were frustrating.

Being close to the airport made this a good place to spend the night before or after a flight. The staff were friendly, the room was clean, and breakfast was good. Pick-up and drop-off were on time.

The food was delicious, and the facilities were nice. Everyone was friendly, too. My only issue was the noise at night and early in the morning. I don't think it's the hotel's fault, probably just its location.
