It’s closed, and they’re building apartments now. The notice says Mikadi Beach is currently closed while transitioning to a new location, with no services available for now. They say they’ll share reopening plans through their official page and appreciate the support and understanding.

The rooms are basic but clean, and the staff are welcoming and pleasant. Food and drinks are affordable, with an international menu. I’d like to see more African dishes, though. The bar next door is very noisy, with loud music and an extreme amount of low-key bass. See.

The loudest problem is the beach bar next door, which plays extremely loud music all day until 2am. The rooms aren’t soundproof at all, so it badly disrupts the whole stay. The beach water is murky, and the beach is packed with people. The place is rundown, with everything feeling makeshift, flimsy, broken, or ramshackle. The rooms are super basic, like pop-up military barracks, but worse. For $25, it’s insulting: no AC, Wi-Fi, private bathroom, or included breakfast. The tiny pool looks murky and unsanitary, and the beach is littered with trash. They don’t even make a minimal effort to clean it. The on-site bar and restaurant are overpriced too. Terrible value for money, a rip-off, as so often in Tanzania. Better go to another country entirely, somewhere tourists are respected.

Some rooms are small, but the price is very low, so it’s still worth it. The location is excellent, right on the beach with lots of places to hang out nearby, and breakfast was very nice. Special thanks to Innocent, who does an excellent job cleaning the facilities and chatting with people. He’s a really nice guy who brings happiness and good vibes to the place.

The beachside setting has a nice feel, and waking up to several monkeys on our balcony the next morning was a treat 😊. We stayed one night and thought it was good value. There are small cabins and tents: 50k with a shared bathroom, 110k with a private one, and one tent with its own bathroom for 180k. The food was really good too. I loved the ham and mushroom pizza, and the margarita cocktail was so yummy.
