The hotel is in a good area, but much of it looks old and needs renovation, particularly the plumbing, toilets, and walls. The rooms are small, there's no good table or chairs, and no television. I'd give it three stars. The manager needs to invest in improvements and renovations.

Breakfast was disappointing, and the hotel is a long way from the airport. During peak traffic, the drive can take up to two hours. The walls are very thin, too, and the road outside is busy and noisy. Not a good choice.

That rooftop and the big room made the place feel amazing. Wonderful stay 💯

The terrace bar in the evening was lovely. We could watch ordinary Tanzanian people passing the hotel entrance while we had drinks. My wife also appreciated that the rooms were affordable without giving up cleanliness or service. We arrived from India on a night flight with two small children, and our three-night stay qualified us for a free hotel shuttle. It was waiting at the airport on time, as promised. They also let us check in early at 5 AM for free, well before the official noon check-in, which we were very grateful for. Mr.Ben, the Guest Relations Officer, went out of his way to offer us discounted escorted City Tour services. I’d definitely recommend Sawe Hotel Dar es salaam as one of the best budget hotels in Dar es salaam City Tanzania.

The facilities were great, and the staff were friendly, polite, and efficient. Christian Wischnewski, if you find mosques an "annoyance" in a majority Muslim country and Tanzanian standards too low for your taste, please don't visit Tanzania again. Thanks.
