Ziwani Lodge

Our anniversary safari was made even better by staying at The Ziwani. The place has unexpected luxury and lovely decor, and the views over Lake Eyasi are awesome. We had a huge room that felt more like an apartment, with a sumptuous bed and a bathroom to die for. The pool and outdoor area were wonderful, the staff warm and personable, and the food delicious and plentiful. Make time for a rooftop sundowner with a drink.

We spent two nights at Ziwani Lodge on the way from Tarangire to Ngorongoro Crater, and it felt like a magical oasis. At arrival, friendly staff welcomed us with cool face cloths and refreshing drinks, along with the resort manager. The best part might be the view across the Great Rift Valley and Lake Eyasi. It changes with the sun, and you could happily sit there all day. I can’t think of a better place in Tanzania for a sundowner. The resort is beautifully decorated, the rooms are comfortable with exceptional views, and the food is first class. Staff were attentive throughout. It’s a fantastic spot to unwind for a few days between safaris, and to make cultural visits to the Hadazabe Tribe.

The view is like looking across two million years of history. Zawani Lodge is an amazing place, with stunning rooms and fabulous food. The people hosting and managing it are charming, welcoming, and gracious.

The views are amazing and the place itself is gorgeous. The rooms are beautiful, though they got a little warm at night, and there was no wifi in the rooms. The manager was so adorable and welcoming.
