The treehouses were incredible, open and airy while fitting beautifully into the surrounding nature. We fell asleep to forest sounds and woke up to birdsong, which was pure bliss. From arrival onward, the staff were so friendly and helpful, and dinner by candlelight was a lovely island experience. The fresh food was delicious. Chole Mjini felt both peaceful and full of life, and the whole stay was spectacular. I can't recommend this special place enough.

Our teenage children came with us, and we all had a very special holiday at Chole Mjini. We went snorkeling with whale sharks, diving, paddle boarding, kayaking, and visited the Blue Lagoon. We also stopped by the island village, where people made us feel welcome. The sandbank outings were wonderful, with drinks and games on pristine white sand beside clear turquoise water. Back at the lodge, the pool was a great addition to the luxurious treehouse accommodation. The beds were comfortable, and having tea, coffee, and biscuits delivered each morning was a lovely touch. What a wonderful part of the world. Thank you all for memories we'll carry for a lifetime. Highly recommended.

We loved every moment of our four incredible days here. It felt like stepping into a Robinson Crusoe fantasy. The treehouses are beautiful and thoughtfully designed to sit in harmony with nature. Warm hosts Anne and Jean, creative and delicious food, and a truly magical atmosphere made this an unforgettable stay.

The staff were helpful and welcoming, the food was delicious, and the sundowners were spectacular. Chole Mjini has beautiful treehouse suites overlooking the coast, and it feels like an ideal place to get away from everything. It has a joyful, distinctive character, the opposite of an impersonal chain hotel. I haven't seen a more authentic or successful eco-hotel built around values and natural beauty.

We loved waking up among the trees to birdsong and the calm sound of the ocean. The lodge offered a community dinner where guests could meet, and our stay felt very relaxing. We took a sunset dhow cruise through the lodge and went stand-up paddleboarding around the island. The lodge also seemed well integrated with the local community. Getting to the island requires a small boat from Mafia Island.
