Ananda Beach Hotel

I was looking for somewhere that made it easy to kite surf, and this hotel was comfortable for sleeping, eating, and resting. The room was spacious, had hot water in the shower, and came with an outdoor area. The pool was lovely and usually not very busy. The restaurant was so good that I ate most of my meals there. They also have a kite school, but I went to another one because I’d arrived a few days earlier and stayed at a different hotel for the first two nights. I can’t comment on their lessons, though the prices seemed fair.

Papa J was such a lovely person. He answered every request with a big smile and made my stay even more enjoyable. Aggy and Eliza deserve a special mention too. From the moment I arrived, everyone made me feel welcome and went out of their way to look after me. They even arranged a birthday surprise that made the stay extra special and unforgettable. Ananda Hotel is perfectly located, so everything is easy to get to, but it still feels like a great getaway. I also took my first kitesurfing lessons at the hotel’s school and highly recommend the experience. It’s something you shouldn’t miss if you’re staying there. I had a fantastic time and would absolutely come back!

The staff were the real highlight, especially Shedy at reception. He was kind and attentive, greeted me with a warm smile, remembered my name, and handled check-in and checkout smoothly. His thoughtful, proactive service made a great stay even better. Ananda Beach Hotel felt like a peaceful, luxurious retreat, with a fantastic pool and delicious local and international food. The rooms were immaculate, and direct beach access made for lovely, relaxing mornings. Every detail was handled gracefully from arrival through my reluctant departure. I absolutely recommend it and look forward to visiting again. Say hello to Shedy!

The restaurant service is sloooooow, though the food is good. The room had several problems: the sliding entrance door stuck and was a pain to close, the room was tiny, the window screen was broken, the mattress was rock hard, and there was only a plain top sheet with no blanket. The bathroom was tiny too, with a shower head only 5'7" high and barely enough space to get past the sink. I’m not sure where the other reviewers are staying. Following up on that review, the manager understood the room issues and kindly offered me a much better alternative. The food is incredible, and the grilled octopus was cooked to perfection. Try the carrot cake too.
