Breakfast was brilliant: lots of fresh fruit, then eggs, toast, and fried vegetables with coffee. The homemade avocado and ginger smoothie was delicious, and the food was really good. The beach is only a two minute walk away, with lovely spots for food and drinks. We were there for just one night, but it was exactly what we needed. The room was clean, the air con worked, and it was lovely and quiet, so we slept well without being disturbed. Check in wasn’t completely smooth, though we’d booked last minute. The staff were accommodating and sorted out the problems quickly. Breakfast was included, too. I was very impressed, especially for the low price. Great value for money.

West was one of the best hosts we’ve ever met. He was kind and friendly, and took us to some of the best places in Zanzibar. We had such a lovely stay and will definitely come back to Utulivu House. It was a wise choice: the room was big and clean, and the beach was very close. We also felt safe walking around the neighborhood.

Abu made us a delicious breakfast every morning, with lots of fresh fruit, omelettes, grilled sandwiches, and more. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, and cleaned often. We spent a week in Paje and couldn’t have asked for a better place. West and his wife Julie were so warm and welcoming that we immediately felt at home. They did everything they could to make us comfortable, and West helped us get the most out of Paje. He offered good deals on activities in and around town and organized everything for us. The guesthouse is only a two minute walk from the beach, and the room prices are very inexpensive, with breakfast included. I’d happily stay there again. Thanks for the lovely time, and hopefully see you soon.

The hosts make you feel welcome from the heart. They’re wonderful people who go out of their way to keep guests happy, and they explain the different activities in Paje clearly without pushing you into anything. West, the owner, is also a really good kiting teacher. I can’t think of a better place to spend a holiday in Paje.

Nice place to stay. Strong wifi, air con in the room, and breakfast with pancakes and French press coffee.
