We only had a short stay, but really enjoyed it. The rooms were comfortable and had air conditioning, and the restaurant had a lovely view and excellent food, though the menu was limited. The tidal lagoon was great for swimming, there was some wildlife to spot, and the sunrise views were sublime.

It’s a really peaceful hotel in a lovely location. Just keep in mind it’s in Pemba, so things may feel like they’re run as they were in the 1960s. That comes with Pemba, though. It’s not Dubai.

I stayed at this resort in July/2025 and found it beautiful all around. After midnight, I sat by myself in the overwater bungalow listening to the waves. It’s a perfect place to relax and recharge. The rate was $65 a night for two people, breakfast included.

The bedroom has a nice view of the beach, and the old building is well maintained. It’s quiet enough that all you hear are birds and the ocean waves. I planned to stay two weeks, but spent one read.
