The “sea safari” was a real treat, walking in the ocean while guides pointed out the sea creatures. It was a special finish to our Tanzania trip after the Serengeti Safari. We spent six perfect days at this beautiful, small resort. The property is spotless, comfortable, and so well looked after. With just a handful of cottages, it feels like every need is anticipated and taken care of thoughtfully and graciously. Little touches appeared before we even knew we'd want them. The staff are wonderful, with a real gift for hospitality. I had a favorite, whom I nicknamed “Mau,” close to his name but with my own twist. The Palms is lucky to have him. The food and bespoke cocktails were as delicious as we'd hoped.

The care from the staff felt genuinely warm, and every meal was delicious. The rooms are spacious, beautifully designed, and feel luxurious. Everywhere in the hotel has a serene, elegant feel, and the whole place is breathtaking. I'd recommend it to anyone after a special stay they'll remember.

After summiting Mt Kilimanjaro (we made it!), we came to The Palms to recover, and it was just the right choice. Its intimate boutique feel suited us so well. We loved the villas, beach cabanas, refreshing pool, and tasty food, and the cultural and music experiences were interesting. The staff were THE BEST, especially Siriak, Jackson, Ngasa, and the whole Palms team. Can't wait to come back for more fantastic “sundowners!”

There are only seven villas, so The Palms feels peaceful and relaxing. The staff's hospitality and warmth are next level. Siriak runs the place beautifully and clearly loves his work, pitching in alongside his team. Somehow, he even knows when you're in the mood for a drink or snack before you ask. I stayed for three nights and four days in June 2025 to celebrate a dear friend's birthday, and the experience was glorious. Every detail was thought through, from the cool lemongrass-scented towel on arrival to the lovely note and gift when we left. I recommend it wholeheartedly.

We spent five perfect days at The Palms at the end of our honeymoon. We felt like royalty from the start, and the staff were always smiling, welcoming, and attentive. Siriak, the operations manager, was always there to chat, ask how our day was going, and teach us bao. The bar and waiting staff, Kibalabala, Jackson, Ngasa, and Mau, were so friendly and kind. Nothing was too much to ask. Apologies if I've misspelt any names. The seven bungalows make the resort feel intimate, quiet, and peaceful, almost as though you're the only people in the world. Our spacious bungalow had lovely decor, a seating area, a gorgeous bathroom with a free standing bath, a separate dressing room, and another bedroom and bathroom that we used for storage. We loved sitting on the private terrace beside the mini pool before dinner. The shared spaces are just as beautiful, decorated thoughtfully to feel authentic to the surroundings while still modern. We had lunch by the pool most days, but they mixed it up: one day our beach cabana became a private dining spot, and another day the staff built a wooden and palm-leaf structure on the beach, where we ate with waves lapping almost at our toes. Dinner tables moved to different spots each night, and there was different entertainment almost every evening, from live music to a talk about local history. Chef William deserves the credit for the exceptional food. There was lots of variety, and everything was perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. After five days of four-course lunches and five-course dinners, we could hardly move! The bar staff were always ready to make something delicious. We especially liked the passionfruit mojitos, and miss the morning non-alcoholic cocktails in our beach cabana and the evening sundowners and canapés brought with the dinner menu. I can't think of a single criticism. We've travelled a lot, and The Palms is hands-down our favourite. We hope to return someday.
