AHG Waridi Beach Resort & Spa

The beach vendors made it hard to relax. From our chairs, instead of just enjoying the ocean, we had around ten beach boys staring at us, which felt very uncomfortable and hurt the experience. The resort itself has lovely grounds, a beautiful pool and a stunning beach, but our room felt dated and could have been better maintained. The food was pretty good, but I really disliked the bottled water rule. When we tried to take the unfinished bottle from lunch or dinner, staff took it away. I had an unpleasant confrontation with them, and they treated me as though I were doing something wrong. The policy wasn't posted anywhere. It felt wasteful and like a way to make guests buy water that isn't included in the all-inclusive package. This wasn't my favourite place.

The beach is beautiful, and my single-use classic room suited me well. I hadn't stayed at an all-inclusive resort before, and I'm really enjoying it. The staff are great and friendly, the food is good, and the drinks taste nice. There's also something to do each day if you feel like joining in, though it's easy to relax too.

The beach was beautiful, and we enjoyed the hotel facilities whenever we weren't out on one of the tours we'd arranged. We stayed a week, and what stood out most was how kind everyone was. They always greeted us with a big smile. The food was delicious, with plenty of healthy and vegetarian options, and we appreciated having our room cleaned every day. Thank you ❤️

Mishi was especially accommodating for my daughter's birthday, and the staff were very friendly. The Maasai and beach boys were around, as elsewhere in Zanzibar, and sometimes their attention seeking got in the way of the sea view and peaceful atmosphere. The pool is sheltered, but there aren't many loungers, so get one early, after 7, when the pool opens. The restaurant was clean and had a lot of staff. If you left a plate unattended, a waiter would be keen to clear it. At times I felt more watched than served. The hotel is nicely staffed and has an unobtrusive design. The food was good and the view decent. Finding the entrance can be tricky if you're driving your own vehicle.
