We liked our stay and would come back. For a low price, you get a lot here: fishing access, a gazebo, barbecue, billiards, a pool, and a cozy property. We were welcomed, shown around, and stayed in touch with the staff, so these issues didn't ruin the trip. The room was clean, with fresh bath and hand towels, though two pillowcases had huge stains and should be replaced. Please pay attention to the refrigerators too. Ours smelled awful, probably because previous guests had left seafood that leaked. The shelves were covered in the liquid and stank. Couldn't someone at least wipe it down? There were no glasses at all. Most hotels have a few, usually enough for the guests, but maybe that's part of the low price, so just be prepared. The mosquito screens were broken, and I think cottages out in nature should have those in working order. If you're planning to make shashlik, bring plenty of dishes, including plates, glasses, knives, and cutting boards, plus a sponge for washing up. The price really is very low, so these things are manageable.

We had no real complaints, just one small hitch: there were only two chairs in the four-bed room, and there were three of us, so we made do. The room and bathroom were both spacious and clean, and the bed was snow-white. The gazebo overlooking the pond had plenty of chairs and lights. The pool was the highlight, with clear, clean water. I saw them cleaning it in the morning myself. There weren't many people fishing, so there was lots of time to sit with a rod and float, though we didn't spend enough time enjoying it. You can play billiards even if you're a beginner. Great place, A+.

We came expecting a gloomy place after reading some negative reviews, but the grounds and scenery were lovely. The gazebos were sturdy, roomy, had insect screens and lights, and came with barbecues. You can tell the place was put together with care. It had been closed for a long time because of the war, though, and that has clearly taken a toll. It was nearly deserted. The kitchen was out of order, and so was the pool during our stay. Our room was large but oddly laid out and mostly empty. The lighting needs work, from the bulbs in the room to the lights outside and around the gazebos. They'd also installed a shower but no curtain. There are plenty of problems, but I still think the good outweighs the bad. It's atmospheric, and could be a gem if someone knowledgeable invested in fixing it up. We spent one night there, for 2,000 hryvnias. They could also make extra income and improve guests' stays by offering basics like firewood, coal, water, nuts, chips, and chocolate bars. I'd suggest giving the place a try, especially since it needs visitors now more than ever. My friends and I plan to return more often and stay longer.

The natural setting was the best part of our vacation, and that's why I'm giving it two stars. The trees were beautiful and well cared for, and there were pools and gazebos. The rooms were spacious but needed cosmetic repairs. We had booking problems, and in our four-bed room there were only two chairs. The toilet leaked and smelled terrible, the light fixtures had no bulbs, and there were exposed wires. We weren't given bed linen, just sheets and pillowcases. The layout was awkward, and the air conditioner blew straight onto the bed. Fishing may be difficult too, since the whole pier can be occupied. If you do find a place, the camp owner might ask you to move because friends have arrived and that spot was supposedly reserved. We had a good vacation, but the downsides outweighed the positives.

This place is really only for keen anglers. It used to be wonderful, but now it feels run down and needs cosmetic repairs and a deep clean. The food is repetitive and service is slow, while the prices seem far too high for that level of service. The Baraboy River water is too dirty for swimming. The local pools are small and always crowded with children and parents. Eating in Baraboy isn't much of an option either: Kartofan burned down, and Shashlychny Dvor is closed.
