Spa Club Diodon

We were there August 2nd to 8th, 2019, and the weather was a bit rainy. The hotel left a good impression: clean rooms with wooden walls, beds, a TV, air conditioning, a lovely shower, and an outdoor balcony. Rooms were cleaned daily. The freshwater pool was regularly cleaned, and there was also a children's playground, bar, and dining room. The three-course breakfast was included, filling and tasty, though the price was quite high. There isn't a beach, so without the pool there'd be nowhere to relax. Spa options include massage and a sauna, but the bowling alley was closed and entertainment was limited. I had a positive stay, but wished all the advertised services had been available.

We had a good time here, apart from the jellyfish in the sea, so most of our swimming was in the pool. The wooden hotel is cozy, with a large adult pool and two for children. Staff were polite and responsive, and the private beach on both sides of the resort was clean, with loungers and umbrellas. Rooms are cleaned daily, and towels are changed daily if you ask. Breakfast is included, and the shashlik is absolutely delicious. Prices aren't cheap, so bear that in mind.

It's a controversial place. The original idea seems good, but construction isn't finished and parts are already falling into disrepair. There are pipe pieces sticking out in the rooms and around the grounds. Our triple room had just one outlet by the beds and another by the table, and Wi-Fi was practically nonexistent. There's hardly any shade on the grounds or beach. The shower stall didn't work properly. The hardware on the metal-plastic doors already needs replacing because it wasn't made for such heavy use. There's no beach shower, and the foot wash has almost no water pressure. For 35 beach rooms, there are only 14 small umbrellas. The breakfast is the one positive, and it's good by Berdyansk standards. Even so, waiters try to charge customers for coffee that's already included with breakfast.

The rooms are luxurious and to European standards, and the place is clean and cozy. The food tastes good, though portions are small. The children's pool water gets changed often, which leaves it colder than the main pool. There's a playground with a wrecked ship, but no entertainment program or sports facilities. It would be great if the prices were lower.
