Tsargrad Hotel

The place is nice inside and out, with a pleasant garden and comfortable surroundings. But check the bill carefully, because even the arithmetic can be wrong, and it's only in Ukranian. The English menu doesn't prevent that. Drinks like juice are priced per 100 ml, but the menu doesn't say whether that's for a glass or cup, unlike in most places. Dishes are expensive for a village restaurant, and they add the TIP to the bill themselves, deciding how much you should pay.

The kitchen deserves the compliments: the cook is skilled, the food is tasty, and many things seem natural and sourced from eco-farmers, especially the dairy and eggs. The hotel itself is well furnished, with quality-looking reception areas, corridors, rooms, doors, windows, TV, and linen. I stayed there on a business trip with my German partners from 14 till 27 January 2019, and after a few days we realized the owners seemed to have saved money on construction. The sound insulation is poor, you can hear the neighbors' love games, and wind blows through the windows. The reception women were polite, helpful, and really nice, but the security men near reception gave a rather controversial impression. The restaurant staff were a real humbug, and be ready to find fraud with the bills. They also neglect and resist switching to Ukrainian even if you insist. For foreigners and Russian speakers that's not a problem, but as a Ukrainian I found it abusive and insulting. It feels like diving into the "Russian world". The cash desk bills are in Russian, and even the hotel name is in Russian, Tsargrad, not a Ukrainian word. In the end, the hotel isn't bad at all, and you can have fun there, right on the road not far from Kyiv (#KyivnotKiev). You won't starve, though it isn't cheap. The owners and staff have things to fix and improve. Good luck, and God bless Ukraine (Glory to Ukraine ) !!

A nice place to stay the night. Breakfast was odd, with only scrambled eggs or oatmeal to choose from, but there was enough food for two.

In the middle of nowhere, 30 km from Kiev, there's an extremely luxurious hotel where the staff seem angry at you just because you can afford to stay there. The food was definitely prepared in advance and didn't taste good. We also got food poisoning the next day. I wouldn't go back.
