Chalet du Mont

The meals were incredible, even the simplest traditional dishes had a little twist. Both restaurants on site were great, and the staff were polite. The view was amazing, especially from the pool.

We were five people and visited recently. One of us slipped outside the pool and hit a thin glass panel. It shattered on impact, badly cutting their fingers and causing cuts near the eyes and face. There was no medical staff, so we drove 40 minutes to a hospital, but there were no emergency doctors available. We had to go to another city to find a doctor. We told the hotel we’d pay for the damage, but they kept bothering us for documents and seemed not to care about what had happened. One of us handed over a document, then they demanded another, and I finally lost my patience and told them I’d already given them one of our documents. They said we couldn’t cancel our bath because they’d prepared it. Three of us went while the other two tried to find a hospital. We’d booked a warm bath for later, but it had only a few branches in it. On a previous visit, it had leaves, fruit peels, and a lovely scent. We’d come back just for that experience, but it was a huge disappointment.

The staff were wonderful, helpful, and the place was clean with a great view. You can even walk their dogs, no joke, they have lovely malamute pups. Definitely try the pool, sauna, and chan, the warm outdoor tub with pine branches. And get the pasta with white mushrooms if they have it.

There’s an amazing view, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and the food is nice. The staff are very friendly too. You can take a dog for a walk, as the hotel looks after almost 10 Malamuts, a mix of Huski and wolf.
