Free Way

We had a warm welcome from Natalia, and I’m very grateful for it. "Smerekova Khata" in Yablunytsia is a peaceful spot in nature, with clean rooms, welcoming staff, and a convenient location in the Carpathians. A good choice if you value comfort, cleanliness, and location. Everything was at the highest level!

I started my mornings by the little pond, with coffee, Carpathian cheese, and a local cat for company. There are wooden loungers around it, too. The grounds also have gazebos, barbecue spots, several grills, and big wooden swings where you can relax with a book and coffee, so guests have room to themselves. My husband and I stayed in summer, and I wish we’d rented a cottage here in winter as well. There’s forest all around, fresh mountain air, crickets, and cats. If you want to get away from the city and enjoy some quiet, Smerekova hut is a great option at very reasonable prices. The cottages aren’t new, but they have what you need: a kettle, microwave, and refrigerator. The beds are large and comfortable, the bathroom is simple, and there’s plenty of parking. They’re right beside the road, yet it wasn’t noisy at all. You can get skewers and firewood for the barbecue at the restaurant.

The silence gets five stars from me. Even though the place is by the road, it was completely quiet. The room gets three stars: one refrigerator shared between two families, plumbing that wasn’t secured, and a renovation that could use an update. Comfort is a three as well, since there were no dishes apart from glasses.

The food was really tasty, and the portions were generous. We ordered five tinctures, Caesar salad, bograch, banosh, and mors. The bill came to 1,070 UAH.
