Wood-House

Warm, clean house with enough room for kids, hot water, friendly staff, and good food. One thing to know, the fireplace had no protective glass and we had a child with us. But we did choose to light it ourselves.

Woodhause was a cozy cottage with a fireplace and bathroom. It was clean, had free firewood, and a pleasant atmosphere, and the staff were helpful. Really good for the price. We'd recommend it to others.

The hostess Tatyana was unpleasant. She never asked what our room was like during the whole stay, and I suspect she avoided asking because the place was so awful. There was dust and cobwebs all over the walls, a terrible toilet smell in the room, and poor soundproofing. The kitchen sponge was dirty. The first-floor toilet didn't work, and the boiler started leaking on day two. No liquid hand soap was provided. The room doors wouldn't close, and the mattresses were uncomfortable and creaky, leaving my back sore. The bedding was dirty and not fresh. They didn't offer toilet paper or trash bags during our stay, and didn't offer towel changes either. We had to go ask the staff for towels ourselves.

The hot tub and indoor pool on the grounds were a welcome way to unwind after an active day. The setting is also peaceful, with nature to enjoy, hiking trails nearby, and skiing in winter. Breakfasts were varied and tasty, a good boost for busy days. The staff were attentive and friendly, and their hospitality made us feel at home. The location was just right for enjoying the surrounding scenery.
